Laumas PWS Weight Indicator out of production: alternative options

Laumas Elettronica SRL (Italy) - Press Release: The PWS weight indicator has come out of LAUMAS production and can be replaced by the two JOLLY4 and W200 weight indicators.

JOLLY4 is its more "immediate" substitute, because it keeps the same PWS installation features, both for drilling and the terminal blocks and for the output contacts (capacity 115V AC 2 A), so much as to permit plug and play replacement for some configurations.

Additional Features:

Besides having start and stop batching via the keyboard or an external contact, it has 4 operating modes that the customer can select:

1. Weight display with 4 alarm thresholds.
2. Batching 2 products in loading with slow and cycle end.
3. Batching 3 products in loading with cycle end.
4. Batching 4 products in loading.

Missing Features:

• Does not allow programming multiple formulas (recipes).
• Can manage batching at most 4 products, but with no cycle end.
• Does not have the external option of formula selection (E-EC)
• Cannot be connectet to a printer.
• Does not have a communication protocol for connecting to a PC/PLC.

W200 is instead its more "advanced" substitute. While keeping the same dimensions for front panel installation, it has additional features, such as:

• alphanumeric red LED 6-digit display;
• connections to a PC/PLC, remote display and printer via RS485 and RS232 outputs;
• 5 relay outputs, even if smaller and less powerful than those of the PWS;
• power supply 230V (on request, standard 12-24V);
• ability to manage a labeling machine;
• batching programs with 99 setting formulas;
• formula programming in fixed or free steps (for the batching program with 3/6/14 products);
• MULTIPROGRAM program - the installer selects the batching program in the configuration phase;
• several fieldbus options on request: CANopen, DeviceNet, Profibus DP, Ethernet/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, Modbus/TCP, Profinet IO.
